UCAS Deadlines for 2021 – International Students

When preparing your UCAS application to apply for undergraduate study at a university in the UK, it is important to make sure you know the UCAS deadline dates. The following information is for the UCAS deadlines for entry in autumn 2021. It is information for international students applying to UK universities using UCAS.


15 October 2020, 18:00 (UK time) – any course at the universities of Oxford and Cambridge, or for most courses in medicine, veterinary medicine/science and dentistry.

These deadlines are usually inflexible. Also note that if you are applying for medicine, veterinary medicine/science and dentistry you are limited to only four choices, instead of the normal five.


15 January 2021, 18:00 (UK time) – for the majority of courses this is the main publicised deadline. If you miss it though, as an international student you can still apply as many universities and colleges continue to accept applications.


25 February 2021, 18:00 (UK time) – if by this date you have have not received any offers, then UCAS offers you the opportunity to apply for one more course. This is called “Extra”.


30 June 2021, 18:00 (UK time) – this is the final deadline for late applications with course choices.

If you will need to apply for a visa, do try to apply as soon as you can. This help make sure you can start term on time and can find accommodation.


21 September 2021, 18:00 (UK time) – it is still okay to apply by this date, but instead of choosing courses, you’ll be entered into ‘Clearing’.  That is the process universities and colleges use to fill any places they still have on their courses. We would not recommend leaving it this late to apply but sometimes this can be the best option for your situation.
